Our mission
A clearer view of the fungal world
MushroomScope is an independent English-language knowledge project for mushroom enthusiasts, growers, nature lovers, cooks, and curious readers worldwide.
How we work
Our goal is to publish approachable, structured references that distinguish established knowledge from emerging evidence. We compare taxonomic databases, institutional food-safety guidance, peer-reviewed research, and specialist literature. References and review dates are displayed so readers can inspect the basis of an article.
What our byline means
“MushroomScope Editorial Team” is an organizational byline for material researched and maintained by this project. It is not a claim that an article has been examined by a named mycologist, clinician, or dietitian. When qualified external review is obtained, the reviewer’s name, relevant credentials, review scope, and date will be disclosed on the article.
Safety and limitations
Online content cannot confirm the identity or edibility of a wild mushroom. Identification pages are educational and require local, in-person expert confirmation before any consumption decision. Health pages do not provide medical diagnosis or treatment. We do not use generated mushroom images as identification evidence.
Corrections and editorial standards
Articles are designed to cite credible sources, disclose uncertainty, and avoid medical or identification certainty where it is not justified. Readers can report a factual concern through the contact page. Read our full editorial policy and safety disclaimer.
